Teej Singing Competition
During Haritalika Teej, the biggest Hindu festival for the women of Nepal, Radio Annapurna Nepal 94 MHz organized a singing competition from Bhadra 13 to 24. The main agenda of the event was to find, encourage and showcase the singing talents from different parts of Nepal as well as preserving the culture of Teej and reviving the original vocals and styles of the festival.
Every day, famous singers were invited to the studio who listened to the participants singing live and selected one winner each day. The 10 selected winners then participated in the main competition. In the end, Usha Dulal emerged as the winner taking home a cash prize of NRs 1,00,000. The main competition was judged by Kunti Moktan and Sunita Dulal while the preliminary rounds were judged by Sirju Adhikari, Manju Poudel, Tika Prasai, Purna Kala BC, Bhumika Giri, Madhu Chhetri, Preeti Ale and many more.
