Gai Jatra is celebrated every year mainly in Kathmandu valley as a festival to turn grief into joy. Radio Annapurna Nepal thought it was even more important to celebrate it during the coronavirus pandemic as there was a lot of sadness and negativity in people. For this reason, it organized a month-long "Gai Jatra Comedy Challenge" in Shrawan. Participants sent in their individual comedy themed videos that were judged by famous artists from the comedy and acting world - Uday Subba, Dayaram Ghimire, Suman Dahal, Kiran KC, Chattyang Master, Laxman Gamrange and Sarita Lamichhane. They reviewed hundreds of videos and selected Sanjeeb Poudel as the winner who received a cash prize of NRs 1,00,000.
